Our city government needs positive, strong leadership. That is the kind of leader I have tried to be for you since first being elected to the Sarasota City Commission in 2001. With your support, I would be proud to continue to serve you.

I'm asking again for your vote because there is still much to be done to make our city the way we want it: vibrant neighborhoods, a controlled downtown, and a city hall that truly listens to you.

The position of City Commissioner is designed to be part-time but, as before, it will receive nothing short of my full-time commitment and I will continue to be visible, responsive, and very active as your commissioner.

I have appreciated and benefited greatly from your wise counsel in letters, phone calls and e-mail messages and have always tried to reply promptly. While we may not always agree, I will always listen to your concerns. This is my firm commitment to you, my bosses, the taxpayers of our City.

My extensive financial background and business experience have taught me to be cautious with public funds while at the same time employing a can-do philosophy to find reasonable compromises for city problems.

I ask for your vote on April 10th. Together we can make a great city even greater! And together we will find common-sense, workable solutions to the challenges facing our city.
